Notes: Hailing from Cape Fear, NC, Weedeater are a band shrouded in legend and hilarity. Their bassist and frontman, “Dixie” Dave Collins, is a master of puns and wordsmith of the highest order, some sort of Grand Poobah at his local Elk’s Lodge, a ripping skateboarder, and an all around funny dude who accidentally blew his own toe off with a shotgun. I always laugh when I’m with Dave. Back in my drinking days, I spent many a night partying and eating fish tacos in his fabled Garagemahal. Weedeater sound like the Swamp Thing got stoned and decided to start a metal band, and I’ve loved them since I heard their first album, “…And Justice For Y’all”. Cape Fear’s finest!
